    Hello everyone so today i’m going to present you the Metropolitan Museum of Art also know under the name of MET. For begin i’m going to speak about it creation and it localisation secondly i will show you some of it departments and to finish i will speak about one of it masterpiece.

    So, the MET located in New-York : 1000 Fifth Avenue, New York, NY 10028 was created in 1874 so near than 144 years ago. The MET was not alredy big. Through all the years he grew old et became bigger and bigger. The main achitect is Richard Morris Hunt but he was help by a lot of architects.

        The Met is know because of all it pieces (approximatly 2 millions but only 250 000 exposed). The Met's permanent collections are exhibited and managed by seventeen independent departments, each of which includes a team of specialized curators, restaurateurs and researchers. The seventeen departments are :  

    1.                                          Ancient Near Eastern Art, 

    2.                                          Arms and Armor, 

    3.                                          Arts of Africa, Oceania, and the Americas, 

    4.                                          Asian Art, 

    5.                                          The Costume Institute                                    

    6.                                          Egyptian Art

    The Met has some of the most important masterpieces in the world like Vermeer's Masterpiece: The Milkmaid . The Milkmaid is the most famous painting by Vermeer. The Milkmaid was painted by Johannes Vermeer in about 1657–58. It shows us a woman with a pitcher of milk.

          I visited the Met twice and I haven’t finish it yet. There are such  different types of art in this museum that I promise you, you will enjoy your visit.
