    Hello students of 4°, I will present you the National Air and Space Museum.

    The National Air and Space Museum Entrance

     

    The National Air and Space Museum is located in Washington DC. It is the most famous museum in the USA, it is about aviation and space exploration, it also has a public observatory and planetarium.

    The National Air and Space Museum was founded in 1946.

    There are hundreds of amazing aircrafts, spacecrafts, missiles, satellites, and other aeronautical wonders, many of them literally hanging from the ceilings.

     

    Some of the most well-known items are :

    Apollo 11 Command Module Columbia : this is the famous Apollo 11 spacecraft that safely shuttled the very first humans to the Moon’s surface, and then brought them back home to Earth.

    The 1903 Wright Flyer : This is the actual legendary aircraft built by the Wright Brothers that kicked off the entire age of aviation.

    The Enola Gay : This is the famous B-29 bomber that dropped an atomic weapon over the Japanese city of Hiroshima.
